From the 16th of the 21st October, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) annual meeting was held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. The AIChE annual meeting is one of the premiere Chemical Engineering conferences held annually and is hosted by the AIChE. The AIChE is the world’s leading organization for chemical engineering professionals, with over 40,000 members from over 90 countries.
The conference contained 14 topical conferences and consisted of a minimum of 2 topical conferences per day. This year CAPEC had a total of 9 persons attending the conference: 5 PhD students, 2 Post-doctoral researchers, 1 Associate Professor and 1 full Professor. CAPEC had a total of 14 papers accepted for the conference, 13 of which were oral presentations and 1 poster and all the presentations were well accepted by the audience in the various sessions.
Also held at the conference was the IEA-Annex IX Energy efficient separation systems meeting, of which Associate Professor Gurkan Sin (DTU-CAPEC) is committee chair. At the meeting aspects of design/retrofit of new/existing separation systems was discussed to identify the needs within the chemical engineering industry to effectively utilize current and future energy resources.
The CAPEC research centre was well represented by the DTU delegation, highlighting the active research on-going at the centre. See the pictures below for the highlights of the conference.
